The LUU Dance Band is made of Highly talented Students from the University of Leeds. Winning the Great North Big Band festival in 2009, it is available to be booked for weddings, parties, balls and other functions. The 22 piece big band can play music from old numbers from Frank Sinatra and Count Basie to modern Classics by Tom Jones and Randy Crawford. Music can be taylored into the needs of the people booking the band. The band has experience in playing in many events such as weddings, but also plays in much larger events such as the anual Leeds Universities Summer Ball, which has over 10,000 students attending. Other smaller combinations of music may be available to play alongside the big band, such as a small jazz combo playing during the meal at the reception, with the full big band finishing the evening. The band is based in Leeds, but is available to travel.
